Super Easy Homemade Natural Beauty Recipes

Are you thinking about making your own homemade natural beauty products? I think I may know why…

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had much luck with store bought beauty products. They just never seem to serve me right. The ones for my skin either dry it out, make it break out, or go completely the opposite direction and make it too oily or greasy.

The same goes with bath and body products for my kids. They are just full of so many chemicals that they are not a good match for our fair skin.

When I found out that I could make my own beauty products that actually worked better for my skin and my body, I was sold for life. In all actuality, I wondered why I ever put something on my skin (the largest organ on my body) that I could not put in my mouth.

I wanted my bath and body care items to be safe enough to eat. Yes, it’s possible!

You Can Make Your Own Natural Beauty Products

It sounds crazy, but you can make almost any bath or body product you normally use, using safe and edible ingredients. None of those “specialty store” DIY beauty product ingredients.

This makes it cheap, safe, and easy to make your own beauty products.

Learn how to make your own:

  • Lotion
  • Body spray
  • Bath bombs
  • Baby powder
  • Tooth powder
  • and much more!

The number one resource I recommend for learning how to make all of these amazing things is the DIY Organic Beauty Recipes ebook by Heather Dessinger, because it contains over 50 of the best natural beauty recipes I have ever seen.

Seriously, these are great recipes that you will want to keep around for a long time. Everything from children’s bath and body products and simple everyday replacements, to delicate spa-like recipes.

My favorite recipe is the lotion, because it’s a great replacement for store bought lotions. It keeps my skin moist in the winter without making it greasy. I love it!

  1. I’m so glad I found this post as I want to get into making my own homemade beauty products. I have sensitive skin, and even the sensitive skin varieties of products in the store don’t do my skin much good at all. Your comment about not wanting to put anything on your skin that you wouldn’t put in your mouth, really hits the nail on the head for me.

I have felt a little overwhelmed by all of the books available, but I think I’ll start off with your recommendation.

Thanks again for providing such great information on living naturally. 🙂

  2. I’m searching for a lot of homemade products and I would definitely would like to try your recipe! At least I have an idea on how to make these. Thanks for sharing your recipes, Vanessa!
