You might already know exactly what job you want or you might be waiting until you’ve relocated to start searching. Usually, we recommend doing some research before you move so you’re not left without a job for too long.

As part of your research, you should also read through the Minnesota labor laws so that you’re familiar with them before you move. Labor laws vary from state to state, so it’s important that you know the rules for Minnesota specifically.

To make your research as easy as possible, we’ve rounded up the top three jobs in Minnesota. Take a look at the list below and see if any of them suit your skills and interests.

As a medical director, you will oversee a large number of employees in a healthcare facility to ensure everything runs smoothly. This job requires you to take the lead and organize several departments at once.

Your role as a medical director may also recruit new staff members and be involved in promoting exiting staff to senior-level roles. You’ll need a business wardrobe full of smart clothing to look presentable to staff and patients.

You can work in a variety of medical facilities, including the emergency room, hospital wards and clinics, residential homes, and community centers. To succeed in this role, you will need to have had previous roles in healthcare and managerial experience.

Physician

Doctors, or physicians, are responsible for diagnosing medical conditions and providing treatments to help patients with a range of physical and psychological conditions. You will need to have a medical degree and experience working in a variety of healthcare facilities.

The doctor’s role is widely varied and no two days are the same. Every day presents new challenges and you will need to use your investigative skills and medical knowledge to identify the correct illness or condition.

Your role will involve chatting to patients, performing physical examinations, and making notes or referrals. The ultimate goal is to provide the best care for every patient.

Administrator

If you’re a highly organized and driven individual, a role as an administrator might be perfect for you. Every business and corporation needs administrative staff so you won’t struggle to find a job that suits your needs.

There are a lot of scopes to grow and progress within your career as an administrator if you wish to do so. You will gain valuable life skills that you can use in every other aspect of your life.

Depending on where you work as an administrator, your role might involve speaking to patients or clients. For example, if you’re an administrative assistant in a hospital, you will be taking patients’ personal details, making appointments, and filing patient notes.
