The Holidays are just around the corner, and with only a couple of short months to prepare for your Holiday antics, you’ll want to have some fun and memorable ideas planned. There’s no question that millennials love a bit of irony and humor to accompany their leisure and work activities, including Holiday fun.
If your office is planning some fun Holiday activities this year, or even if you’re just trying to get in the spirit, check out these zany and unique ideas for making your Holiday season hilarious!
Have a Holiday Office Party
The classic way to kick off the Holidays at work is to have a themed office party. One engaging option for an office party that is sure to have everyone laughing out loud is to have a silly theme for people to work with. For instance, maybe everyone has to dress up as their favorite one of Santa’s reindeer, or maybe they have to wear an ugly sweater or ridiculous Christmas suit.
Seeing your regular officemates dressed up as a Nordic deer creature or wearing a sweater that looks like it was knitted by their great-grandma will surely give you a case of the giggles.
Another must-have for any office holiday party is a game to get everyone involved. One of our favorite game ideas is to have everyone write down on a slip of paper the things they’ve done this year that are naughty as well as the things they’ve done that are nice.
Then, put them all in a big bowl, and take turns drawing slips from the bowl and guessing who did what naughty or nice thing. The one with the most correct guesses wins! Trust us, with all the crazy stories to come out of such a game, you and everyone in your office will be in stitches.
Play Some Holiday Pranks
Hey, just because you’re technically an adult doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a little bit of holiday humor in the form of some practical jokes. Just remember: a good prank makes the pranked person laugh too. If they’re genuinely upset, your prank was not funny.
Consider some of these holiday prank ideas to give everyone in the office a jolly laugh.
- For some on-point holiday humor, you could wrap your coworker’s desk and personal belongings in wrapping paper! Be sure that you pick out the perfect holiday-themed wrapping paper to really sell the joke. This one is a win-win because your coworker will get to open all their usual office supplies as though they are gifts!
- If it snows where you live, you could build a snowman in the office! Nobody expects to get in from the cold and see good old’ Frosty standing there reporting for his first day at work – hysterical! It’s probably best to do this in the kitchen or bathroom though. You wouldn’t want the melting snow to ruin any electronics.
- Put your coworker’s stapler in a bowl of gelatin. This is a triumphant classic that cannot be ignored. While it may seem a little juvenile, your coworkers are sure to get a laugh out of it as they eat their way through the desert to recover their stapler.
Have a Joke Gift Exchange
Of course, it just wouldn’t be the holidays without a gift exchange. While regular gift exchanges can be stressful and put a lot of pressure on the gift-giver to find something memorable and also the recipient to pretend that they like it, a joke gift exchange changes that. There are plenty of fun and funny gifts out there, from silly Christmas socks to simply giving a lump of coal, you’ll find no shortage of inspiration.
One option that takes even more pressure off the exchange (and replaces it with a dose of fun) is to do a secret Santa exchange. In this Holiday classic, everyone draws a name from a hat and must give a gift to that person. That way, everyone only has to purchase one gift.
Before you know it, the Holidays will be here. In order to have the most fun and ensure everyone is included, it’s best to start planning early! Try out some of the funny ideas discussed here and have an absolutely hilarious Holiday season.
