When you consider how much it costs to buy a boat and then the expense of maintaining it, it makes you wonder why anybody would ever want to own one. A kayak on the other hand is cheap to buy and costs basically nothing to maintain. There is no engine that needs to be repaired and no expensive fuel needed to power it.
