Manifestation is not a new concept. But it has become more popular since 2017 when celebrities like Oprah and Jim Carrey shared that they have used manifestation techniques to achieve success. So what is manifestation? And how does manifestation work?
People all over the world have credited manifestation with bringing money, good jobs, and love into their life. Manifestation is related to the ‘law of attraction’, a philosophy asserting that the energy that you put out into the universe is what you will attract back to you.
Manifestation is about consciously creating a life that you desire. While the law of attraction is about attracting what you want, manifestation is more about attracting what you are. That is to say, you attract what aligns with your thought patterns, mindset, and self-beliefs. Essentially, your thoughts and beliefs have the power to create your reality. If you have a negative outlook and focus on obstacles, you will manifest struggling and difficulty in your life. If you focus on being proactive and positive and believe that you will receive your desires, you will manifest your desires.
“Eliminate all doubt and replace it with the full expectation that you will receive what you are asking for.” – Rhonda Byrne
How Does Manifestation Work?
Manifestation operates on the idea that everything in the universe is made up of vibrational energy. You can think of manifestation like a radio station. If you tune into a rock station, you will be given rock music in return. Manifestation works very much the same way. By tuning into or aligning yourself to a certain vibrational frequency, you will be given back the energy of that frequency. If you want a certain thing from the universe, you must tune into that universal “station”.
Everything that you say, do, think, or believe is aligning you with a certain vibrational energy. For example, if you say “I’m broke” or “I’m poor” you’re speaking this into your vibration. You’re aligning yourself with an energy that is poor and broke. If you’re transmitting that energy to the universe, and the universe is going to bring you the energy of being broke, poor, and lacking in resources.
“The amount of time it takes to get from where you are to where you want to be is only the amount of time it takes you to change the vibration within you. Instant manifestation could be yours if you could instantly change your vibration.” – Abraham Hicks
Manifestation is not about magically conjuring up what you want. It includes the actions that you take in your life. When you take actions that are aligned with what you want, you’re aligning yourself to what you want to manifest. Ultimately, manifestation is about setting an intention, focusing your thoughts and actions toward that goal, and embodying the belief that you can manifest your intention.
How to Manifest What You Want In Your Life
There are several things that you can do to align yourself with the vibrational energy of your desires and manifest what you want in life. Whether it be more money, a new job, or a relationship, here are some tips for manifesting your desires.
Changing Core Beliefs
Many of us grow up with core beliefs that do not align with what we want to manifest in life. For example, you may have a core belief that money is the root of evil, or that those with lots of money are rude and “stuck up” snobs. When you have these beliefs about money, you’re aligning yourself with a mindset and vibrational energy that disparages having money.
Many people also have a core belief that they are unworthy of good things, unlovable, or that manifesting their desires is unattainable. These are just a few core beliefs that you may need to change.
In order to manifest what you want in life, you need to change these core beliefs. First, spend time in reflection and write down as many core beliefs as you can think of that may be holding you back from manifesting what you want. Once identified, there are many ways that you can begin to change these core beliefs.
Tools to Change Core Beliefs:
Start by choosing some daily affirmations that you’d like to incorporate into yoru day. Make a goal to say these to yourself multiple times a day, especially in the morning and before bed. For example, “I am deserving”, “I am healthy”, “I feel well”, “I feel strong”, “I have an abundance”. When saying affirmations, it’s best to speak them as if they are already true.
Another way to change core beliefs is through mirror work. Mirror work is a powerful way to get in touch with your inner self and begin to change your self-perceptions. Here is an excellent guide on how to get started with mirror work from Loner Wolf.
Work with an Empowerment Coach
An empowerment coach is another tool that you can use to change your self-limiting beliefs. Look for a coach that is well versed in manifestation and changing core beliefs. I also highly recommend finding a coach that is trauma-informed and certified.
Envisioning What You Want to Manifest
Part of manifestation is getting very specific about what you’re going to manifest. This includes being able to vividly visualize your life as the manifestation of your desires.
First, work on getting specific. If you want to manifest a new car or house, what kind of car or house specifically? What does it look like? What color is it? What features does it have? One way to do this is by creating a vision board. You can get a large poster board and start decorating it with exactly the things that you want. Or create a vision board on Pinterest as I did.
Once you’ve identified exactly what you want, it’s time to start envisioning it as if it were already yours. Spend time in meditation, envisioning a day of living your manifestation. Imagine waking up and going about your day as if your dreams are reality. The more you can feel as if you’re there, touching your desires, interacting with others within your manifestation, the better.
If you’re manifesting a certain car, take one for a test drive. If you’re manifesting a certain house, park in front of your dream house and imagine that it’s yours. Anything (within reason) that you can do to feel like you’re living your manifestation, do it.
Stand In Your Full Power
Manifestation is about understanding that you have the power of creation in your life and in the universe. In order to do this, you need to embody the energy of the god course that lives in you. Remember that you are one with the universe and you are the source of power and god fulfillment. Understand that you can have and deserve all things when you fully stand in this power.
Your power comes from reflecting the character of source/god energy. This is reverence for all life, gentleness, kindness, and service to others. By embodying these characteristics, you are making your claim to your divine power. Spiritual tools that can help you stand in your full power include centeredness, mindfulness, self-reflection, tarot, and meditation.
Show Gratefulness For What You Have
In order to be gifted with abundance, you need to be able to experience gratitude for what you have. Caring for and being grateful for what you already have demonstrates a universal frequency that values the things that come into your life.
Do you expect the universe to bless you with more if you don’t value what you already have? Caring for, blessing, and showing gratitude for the things that you currently own will help you manifest the abundance you seek.
If you’re trying to manifest a new car, spend time cleaning, maintaining, and showing love for the car that you currently own. Bless it and speak gratefulness for how it’s served you so far. Envision how you will honor it when you get a new car. Will you gift it to a friend or family member in need? Will you sell it for what it’s worth? The same goes for your current home, money, job, etc. Showing that you care for and are grateful for what you currently have, demonstrates to the universe that you will care for and be grateful when given more.
Manifestation is about creating a vibration. It’s about continually turning the dial of your vibrations, looking for the right frequency in order to manifest what you want in life.
