5 Fast-Acting All Natural Toothache Remedies

There are not many things as painful as a toothache, and it can be an difficult type of pain to relieve. But you need something fast!

These natural remedies can help relieve the pain of a toothache until you can make an appointment to see your dentist. Here are 5 of our favorite all natural toothache remedies.

1. Clove Oil

This remedy is so popular for toothaches, some drug stores sell clove oil for the specific purpose of relieving tooth pain.

Clove oil is a natural analgesic, antiseptic and antibacterial that can help relieve tooth pain.Store bought clove oil is not your only option. You can also make your own clove oil.

2. Garlic Oil

Garlic has antibiotic properties and can be helpful in relieving the pain of an infected tooth.

There are two main methods for using garlic to treat a toothache. You can make your own garlic oil to apply to the affected tooth.

3. Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal, which is a form of carbon that is processed to have a larger surface area for absorption, is a go-to for many natural remedies, including toothaches.

Dr. Dana recommends slitting open a tea bag and emptying the contents, filling the bag with a few capsules of activated charcoal, moistening the bag, and placing it on the tooth. Read more here

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It helps relieve a toothache quickly, especially if the culprit is an infected tooth.

When you're in need of immediate relief, soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and place it on the affected tooth. You can also swish the ACV around in your mouth for a few seconds, or drink a shot of the liquid.

Do not use ACV on a regular basis to treat toothache, however. Please use this remedy sparingly or it could damage your teeth.

5. Oil Pulling

Oil pulling fights nasty bacteria and infection from teeth, and is recommended for toothaches.

Swish coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil around in your mouth for 5 to 10 minutes, 2-3 times a day until the toothache is gone.
