Honey for Acne Treatment

Acne can ruin your life or so it seems at times. It begins with puberty and for some never ends. The biggest cause of acne is not washing your face enough but for many even that does not help the situation. Many are finding a solution with the wonderful natural product of honey.

For centuries as far back as the Ancient Egyptians, honey has been used to treat the skin. It has been revered for his healing properties as well as its ability to soften skin and give it a luminous shine. But it is also known for giving smooth skin. In other words, honey fights acne.

Organic is Important

There is no big secret for it. Over all, you need pure honey. This might seem easy, but what I mean here is for you to use organic honey that has not been treated in any way. No matter what the packaging says, you want organic and even then you need to know the brand name or the people selling to make sure that your version of organic is the same as theirs.

Caution with Honey

Before you go further, you need to understand a thing or two about honey. Not all honey, even organic, is the same. Think about it. The bees leave the hive to collect nectar. That means they use the flowers that are within their range. That also means that every hive will have a different makeup of honey.

One hive might have loads of roses in their honey while another has tulip poplars. Why is this important? Allergies. If you have an allergy to certain plants, see if you are buying honey that has an abundance of those plants within the hives collection zone. Ask the beekeeper if possible. Otherwise, you might take a chance on using it and see how you react. Just be cautious.

Application

There is no special formula here. Just use organic honey. Now, some swear that it works better with cinnamon. Give that a try, too, and see how it works for you. You will want to apply it at least once a day. Honey is thick and can be put on slowly and carefully and not make a mess. Let it set on your face for at least fifteen minutes and then easily wash it off.

It’s that easy. In the process, you not only fight acne, you also treat your skin to an organic time at the homemade spa.
