Dates happen to be one food that unfortunately gets ignored. What most people don’t realize is that dates are some of the healthiest fruits out there. There are so many benefits that you really need to consider increasing the amount of dates you have in your diet.

Great for Diabetics

Fruits can be disastrous for diabetics. Though good for you, they are full of nature’s sugars which can be harmful. Dates are one fruit that does have that needed sugar but doesn’t usually impact diabetics the way a peach or a banana can. The effect is milder, and the sugar doesn’t usually spike high as with other fruits.

Aids Digestion

Whether you have constipation, diarrhea, or overall problems with digestive issues, dates might be able to help you. They have been shown to regulate the gastro process and give relief to digestive discomfort. This leads to the next benefit.

Cancer Fighter

Abdominal cancer can be deadly. Studies are beginning to show that dates might be beneficial in the fight against this disease. As it helps the digestive system to run properly, it also helps it remain healthy and fight off all invaders including cancer. How many dates do you have to eat? Not sure yet, but what you got to loose?

Loads of Vitamins

Most fruits have vitamins and minerals that you need. When it comes to healthy blood, look to the date. It has lots of B Vitamins. You can get loads of potassium and calcium, too. These are just a few of the vitamin benefits you can get just from eating a few dates.

High in Fiber

Fiber is very important for your overall health. It plays a major part in the workings of your digestive system. Fiber helps keep your colon clean which also helps in avoiding colon issues including cancer.

Fills You Up

Because dates are full of fiber, they can be very filling. Eat them before going to a party and you’ll find yourself eating less food. Do it before going to a buffet. If you need to eat less, eat dates. They taste great and satisfy you will keeping you away from all the excess food you don’t need.

Helps Fight Cholesterol

Remember all those B vitamins that dates have? That aids in the production of blood. Dates also can help your circulatory system to get healthier as in fighting bad cholesterol.

Energy Booster

Fiber. Vitamins. Minerals. Sugars. All of these combined make great energy boosters. You don’t need to waste your money on energy bars and drinks that have additional ingredients that are actually harmful. All you need is a handful of dates. It’s been rumored that dates also help the sex drive.

This is just a short list of what you can get through dates. They are one of the healthiest snacks out there and can be used in a plethora of ways. Give dates a try. You’ll find that your health will greatly improve with them as part of your overall diet.
